The administrator has disabled public write access. | Report to moderator   Logged   utilisateur (User) Moderator Posts: 2 Karma: 0   Re:Foreigner allowed to buy an apart ? by utilisateur A: (02 / 2008) presently - Vietnam law does not permit foreigners to purchase, own, land and housings.Things should change in the near future: The actual draft, once approved by the national assembly, should allow 5 categories of foreigners to own a property: (With Limitations such as: A single property - for own use - restricted to apartments in Hanoi and HCM only, and the number of eligible buyers will also be limited) 1) Producers, exporters, investors with the means shall be permitted. Followed by: 2) Scientists, educators and experts that contribute to Vietnam development. 3) Expatriates with positive contribution records that are registered as long time residents. 4) Foreigners with Vietnamese spouse. (If purchased by or in the name of the spouse and financed by the foreign husband the family law apply. In case of sales or divorce the investment is then divided according to the declared share or parts) 5) Fully Foreign invested companies that have foreign staff to board. This new program is expected by the end of 2008 and all foreigners that shall qualify will have to confirm their legal status.
